This product is freeware and may thus be used freely.
The only restriction is that the program has to be
distributed in its original zip archive (ie DIRExtractor03.zip)

== What's new in this release ==

v0.3
* New interface
  Version 0.3 has a completely new interface. The interface,
  which resembles Windows Explorer, should be easier to use than
  the previous one.
* Directory structure. The directory structure from the WARGAME.DIR
  file is retained while extracting.
* Default extraction dir. A default extraction directory can be
  entered. This setting is being kept between program use.
* Icons. This release has a program icon that's MUCH better than
  the one with the previous release.
  My thanks go out to Tom Huckstep for creating the icons.

== Purpose of program ==

This program can be used to extract files from the WARGAME.DIR file
of the excellent game Commandos: Behind Enemy Lines
from Pyro Studios.

== Installing the program ==

Just extract the zip file to a directory on your computer and run it
from there. If you get errors about missing DLL files while starting
the program, download the redist.zip file from my site.

== Using the program ==

The main window of the program is divided in two sections, the "folder
view" (on the left) and the "files view" (on the right) . In the folder
view the directory structure of the DIR file is displayed using
a tree view. In the files view the files that are in a selected folder
are displayed.

* Opening a DIR file.
  Select File|Open from the menu or click the open folder icon from
  the toolbar. Use the open file dialog to select the file to be opened.
  The contents of the file will be displayed in the folder and files
  view.

* Navigating the different views.
  You can double click a folder in the files view to open the directory
  and view its contents.
  Use the + or - buttons in the folder view to expand or collapse the
  directory tree.

* Extracting files.
  Files can be extracted by selecting them in the files view and
  selecting File|Extract... from the main menu or clicking the
  arrow icon on the toolbar. A dialog will show up where you can
  enter the directory to extract to. Just type in the name of the
  directory or click the browse button.
  If folders are selected in the files view, they will be extracted too
  while keeping the directory structure.

* Extracting directories.
  Entire directories and their contents can be extracted by selecting
  the folder in the folder view. A dialog will show up where the
  destination directory can be entered. Just type in the name of the
  directory or click the browse button.

* Setting the default extraction directory.
  A default target directory for extracting can be selected by choosing
  View|Options.. from the main menu. In the dialog box that is showed
  the directory can be typed in, or it can be selected by clicking the
  browse button.

== Future versions ==

In the near future, features like sorting of the files view, drag/drop
extraction of files and identification of file types will be added.
In the far future, I'll look into adding files to WARGAME.DIR,
BUT I PROMISE NOTHING!
